Panel: Alfred Bhulai, Simone Mangal-Joly and the Hon. David Patterson, M.P.
Date: Saturday 2nd October
Time: 5PM Guyana/NY, 10PM UK
Guyana has reared almost two generations who have endured sporadic blackouts and unreliable and insufficient energy. There have been many proposals over the years to boost Guyana’s energy supply. A few particularly ambitious ones are poised to start or are underway. What could (or should) our future energy mix be? Should we rely on gas? Focus on hydro? Tilt to solar and wind? Or hedge our bets and pursue a judicious mix of all of these? Join our panel as they evaluate some of the options and weigh the pros and cons. The panel will include Alfred Bhulai (energy entrepreneur), Simone Mangal-Joly (environmentalist) and the Hon. David Patterson (MP and former Minister of Public Infrastructure ). There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the presentations.
Moray House Trust was founded on the ethos that “a culture thrives and develops where ideas circulate and are robustly debated and interrogated.” This panel is one of many organised by the Trust to stimulate discussion and contribute to public discourse.
Details of the Zoom link will be shared in a few days.
